          hile exploring my website I hope you'll enjoy everything from my historically inspired to my contemporary work, as all are painted with a nod to the classical style that informs me.

As I reach beneath the surface to capture a moment in the life of my subject, I work to create compelling original portraits that are robust, and exhibit the essence of each person I paint.  

    Through my reinterpretation of historic portraits, I pay homage to artists who've come before, such as Charles Willson Peale and Gilbert Stuart. I hope the work I do reflects back to theirs and to other classical work, to help the viewer connect the past to the present, and come to an understanding that past events follow us into the present, and affect the decisions we'll make in the future.
